Cab Driver Robbed By Passengers In Harlem, Police Say
A dispute over breaking a $100 bill escalated into a knifepoint robbery.

HARLEM, NY — A livery cab driver was robbed by his passengers in Harlem after a dispute about paying the fare escalated into a knifepoint mugging, police said.
The driver picked up three passengers in Yonkers, New York and proceeded to take them to their destination at West 125th Street and Lenox Avenue, police said. The passengers requested to stop at West 125th Street and Amsterdam Avenue to make change when the ride took a turn, police said.
Passengers and the driver began to argue about breaking a $100 bill when the dispute escalated, said police. One of the riders pulled a knife on the driver and robbed him of $1,500 cash, police said. The three passengers then fled the cab heading north on Amsterdam Avenue.

The driver was not injured during the robbery.
Police released surveillance footage that shows the three suspects in a bodega.
