Cops Arrest Man After Brutal Harlem Stabbing: NYPD

A 63-year-old man was charged with murder following a vicious fatal stabbing earlier this month that left a Harlem man dead, police said.

HARLEM, NY — A man was arrested Sunday a week after a brutal stabbing killed a Harlem man, according to police.

Anthony Jordan, 63, was cuffed in Harlem on Sunday, officials said. The Inwood resident was charged with murder, police announced Sunday night.

The fatal stabbing happened inside a building on East 132th Street near Madison Avenue, officials said.

Police responded to an emergency call reporting the stabbing about 12:20 p.m., and arrived to find the 47-year-old victim inside an apartment with multiple stab wounds, with the killer nowhere to be found.

Medics rushed the man to Harlem Hospital, where doctors pronounced him deceased, officials said.

Police identified the man as Michael Smith, 47, who lived just three blocks away.
