Cops Search For Man After Fatal Harlem Shooting

HARLEM, NY — Detectives are searching for a man in connection to a fatal March shooting in Harlem that claimed the life of a 33-year-old man.

Police identified Gekron Williams, 24, as a person they are seeking for a possible connection to the shooting that killed Kenneth Taveras.

An unidentified armed man late March 3 walked up to the victim in the rear of the Polo Grounds Towers, where Taveras lived, officials said.

The man fired off his gun several times, with at least one of the bullets hitting the Taveras in the chest, police said.

Medics rushed Taveras to Lincoln Hospital, but he soon died from his injuries, authorities said.

"He was my baby. When I moved here, he was only 2 years old," Taveras' mother told CBS New York in March.
