Elderly Woman Thrown To Ground By Her Hair In Harlem Assault: Police
Police released footage of the random, broad-daylight assault on a busy Harlem street corner as they seek help identifying the suspect.
HARLEM, NY — A person grabbed an elderly woman's hair and threw her to the ground on a busy Harlem sidewalk in a random, broad-daylight assault, according to police.
Police on Thursday released video of the July 14 attack, which happened around 9:30 a.m. near the corner of Lenox Avenue and West 127th Street.
Video shows the victim, a 74-year-old woman, walking down the street when the unidentified suspect approaches, takes hold of her hair and throws her violently to the ground.

The suspect walks calmly toward the street while the woman struggles to get up and a couple of bystanders look on, the video shows. The woman ultimately sought medical attention, while the suspect walked eastbound along West 127th Street.
Police also shared an image showing the suspect up close, and asked asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
