The Fortune Society to Break Ground on Affordable/Supportive Housing

Ceremony Includes NYSHCR Commissioner RuthAnne Visnauskas, Manhattan BP Mark Levine, NYS Sen. Cordell Cleare, NYS Assemblymember Eddie Gibbs

The Fortune Society, a leading non-profit organization with a long history of providing permanent supportive and affordable housing to individuals with prior criminal justice involvement, this Monday, June 24, will break ground on Castle III, which will offer 82 units of permanently affordable and supportive housing to serve formerly incarcerated individuals experiencing homelessness and community members with low incomes.

Castle III will feature 58 permanent supportive apartments for formerly incarcerated individuals experiencing homelessness. All tenants will have access to amenities, including an on-site laundry room, a tenant community room, a bike room, and a beautifully landscaped outdoor space. The ground floor will feature a 1,700-square-foot program space with a teaching kitchen, where Fortune will provide a range of supportive services based on the award-winning service model at Castle Gardens. Residents will have access to 24/7 support provided by social service staff, including case managers, residential aides, and program supervisors.
