EAST HARLEM, NY - The gunman behind a shooting in East Harlem Monday morning remains at large, authorities said.

The sole victim, a 37-year-old man, was shot in his left thigh near 2 Avenue and East 126 Street about 7:03 a.m., police said.

The victim reported that a dark-colored sedan approached the intersection, with two masked occupants engaging in a verbal dispute with him, police said.

The front passenger of the sedan then shot him once in the left thigh, police said.

The vehicle then sped away, making a left at 125 Street toward the RFK Bridge, police said.

Medics transported the victim to Harlem Hospital, police said. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
