Harlem Restaurant Celebrates 'Derby Day' With Annual Event
This weekend, Harlem gets a taste of Kentucky as Red Rooster gears up to host a community celebration in honor of the Kentucky Derby.

HARLEM, NY — This weekend, Harlem welcomes a touch of Kentucky spirit as the neighborhood hotspot, Red Rooster, hosts a community celebration in honor of the Kentucky Derby.
The iconic eatery, located at 310 Lenox Ave., near West 126th Street, is a longtime neighborhood institution that serves up classic southern-style cuisine and was founded by Chef Marcus Samuelsson.
As per company representatives, the restaurant has been annually organizing a Derby Day event to honor the rich tradition and grandeur of the Kentucky Derby, right here in Harlem.

From 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. on May 4, guests can indulge in signature canapes, cool Mint Juleps, and live music, all while immersing themselves in the excitement of the race.
The canape menu will include an array of timeless Southern delights, featuring Ms. Lana’s lobster rolls, deviled eggs with onion jam, catfish sliders, pimiento cheese biscuits, rooster nuggets and pecan brownies with bourbon whipped cream.

"Whether you're a seasoned Derby enthusiast or a newcomer to the festivities, our event promises an afternoon of elegance, entertainment, live music and exceptional hospitality," a company spokesperson said.
There are two ticket options available: Tier one is priced at $50 and includes canapes plus one drink ticket, while Tier two is $80 and encompasses canapes, three drink tickets and a personalized Orrefors Kosta Boda-engraved glass.
