Man, 67, Attacked With Metal Pipe In East Harlem, Police Say

The victim was hospitalized following the attack, police said.

EAST HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating after a 67-year-old man was attacked with a metal pipe in East Harlem, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the victim was walking in front of 315 Pleasant Ave., near the corner of East 117th Street, back on Aug. 3 at 9:56 p.m. when he got into an argument with the perpetrator.

The argument escalated, and the suspect then hit the victim in the head and the back with a metal pipe, police said.

After the attack, the victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan in stable condition, and the perpetrator ran away, heading downtown on Pleasant Avenue, police said.

Police have not made any arrests yet, but have released a photo of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, grey sweatpants and black sneakers, officials said.
