Man Stabbed In Riverside Park, Police Say

Five men attacked the victim, stabbing him in the chest and stomach.

HARLEM, NY — A man was stabbed in the chest and stomach during an attempted robbery in Harlem on Monday night, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the 44-year-old victim was walking near Riverside Drive and West 138th Street around 7:38 p.m. when five men in hoodies approached him and attempted to take his cell phone.

During the struggle, one of the perpetrators stabbed him in the chest and in the stomach, before they all ran away in an unknown direction, police said.

Medics rushed the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he is likely to survive the attack, police said.
