Officer Hospitalized After Squad Car Crashes In Manhattan, Police Say

HARLEM, NY — One police officer was hospitalized after crashing a squad car into a truck in Harlem on Tuesday morning, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the crash happened at around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday.

The officer in the NYPD car was injured and bleeding from his head after the crash, and was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition, police said.

Officials told Patch that the NYPD is looking into the crash and does not have details on what led up to the collision yet. Police said it is unknown at this time whether the squad car had its siren on during the crash.
