Man Cuffed In Harlem Teen's Shooting Death: NYPD

HARLEM, NY — A homeless man has been arrested in a shooting that left a 19-year-old dead in Harlem this week, officials said.

Jose Rodriguez, 54, was nabbed by officers in East Harlem Thursday evening and was charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Police added that Rodriguez is currently homeless.

Officials identified the teen victim as Ramon Alvarez, 19.

He was shot near his home on East 112th Street close to Third Avenue about 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officials said.

Medics found him with a single gunshot wound to the stomach, police said.

Alvarez was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
