HARLEM, NY — The popular Uptown Night Market is returning to Harlem in April following another successful run in the neighborhood last year.

The open-air market — now dubbed as New York City's largest food and cultural festival — will again be located under the Arches on 12th Avenue just north of 133rd Street, and will feature a seven-month celebration of Harlem's food and culture every second Thursday of the month, starting on April 11 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.

"Uptown Night Market has become more than just a food festival; it's a cornerstone of our community," says event organizer Marco Shalma. "It's a platform for local businesses to thrive, a stage for artists and performers to showcase their talents, and most importantly, it's a space where neighbors and visitors come together to celebrate what makes Harlem truly special."

While the exact lineup has yet to be released, the organizer behind the festival, MASC Hospitality, promises there will be at least 80 vendors to help celebrate the vibrancy of the neighborhood, providing everything from soul food to expertly-crafted tacos.

New for 2024 is a resident house band and DJ to provide a soundtrack to pump each second Thursday with musical treats to accompany the delicious food and vibes.

In collaboration with the esteemed Harlem Late Night Jazz, attendees should expect a blend of R&B, blues, funk, afrobeats and Latin rhythms reverberating throughout the Arches.

And later in the evening, DJ Cosi assumes command, pumping up the jams to celebrate the return of the warm months.

According to MASC Hospitality, over 15,000 people attend Uptown Night Market each month last year, with over 110,000 people attending total and over 300 food vendors.

The events are produced in partnership with the West Harlem Development Corporation and in collaboration with CB9 Manhattan, Harlem Pride and Harlem Week.
