Woman Killed Inside NYC Apartment Identified As Mother Of 4, Police Say

Police have released the identity of the 47-year-old victim who was stabbed to death in a Harlem apartment.

HARLEM, NY — A 47-year-old woman was stabbed to death early Monday inside a West 129th Street apartment in Harlem has been identified as Carmen Lopez, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, officers responded around 4:25 a.m. to a 911 call about an assault at 409 West 129th St., near Convent Avenue, and found Lopez inside the apartment building with multiple stab wounds.

She was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in critical condition, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

According to the New York Daily News, the victim was a mother to four children, including a 7-year-old and a 14-year-old who still live at home.

Police said the investigation is underway, but that no arrests have been made yet.
