Woman Shot In Harlem Monday Night: Police

There was a second shooting in the neighborhood on Monday, officials said, after a 7-year-old girl was shot in the afternoon.

HARLEM, NY – A 39-year-old woman was shot in the left leg near 217 West 127th Street on Monday night, a police spokesperson told Patch.

Emergency responders transported her to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, authorities said.

The incident happened at about 9 p.m. not far from Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning, police said, and it’s not clear what led to the incident. An investigation remains ongoing.

There’s currently no connection between this shooting and a shooting that happened earlier in the afternoon in Harlem on Monday, a police spokesperson confirmed.

Two suspects were charged on Monday night in connection with the afternoon incident. A 7-year-old girl was shot in the stomach, reportedly caught in the crossfire during a gang-related shooting outside a Starbucks.
