Alive N' Kickin to Perform at the Village Green; Tappan Zee Bridge Task Force Meets Friday in White Plains

  • The West Harrison branch of the Harrison Library is hosting "Mother Goose" time this morning from 10:30 a.m. 11 a.m. Children up to age 3 are welcome to come sing, dance, listen to stories, and pop bubbles. The West Harrison branch is located at 2 Madison Street in West Harrison.

  • The music group Alive N’ Kickin is scheduled to perform today at the West Harrison Village Green Wednesday at 7 p.m. Alive N’ Kick formed in Brooklyn in 1968. The band is best known for the hit single “Tighter, Tighter,” which reached #7 in the US Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1970.

  • The Digital Arts Experience in White Plains is hosting an open mic today at 7 p.m. All ages and skill levels welcome. Bring your instruments. Sound system provided.The Digital Arts Experience is located at 170 Hamilton Ave. in White Plains.

  • The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming September primary elections is Friday. New York State residents can register to vote online at http://dmv.ny.gov if they have a valid state license or identification card and establish a MyDMV account. MyDMV requires users to create a secure online account that is validated through the verification of personal information, such as date of birth, social security number, address and license document number.

  • The Mass Transit Task Force for the new Tappan Zee Bridge will hold its August meeting in White Plains at the White Plains Public Library Friday at 9:30 am. White Plains  Mayor Tom Roach serves as a member of this Task Force. This is a public meeting and there will be a session for public comment at the end for those who are interested.
