Busy Month on Tap for Harrison Library

The Harrison Library has a busy month of events and activities ahead.

In addition to its regular weekly programming, the library is hosting a series of book signings, a community forum and a meditation class.

The events will begin on May 14, with the much-anticipated panel discussion hosted by Rabbi Barry Kenter, president of the Center for Jewish-Christian-Muslim Understanding. The discussion is open to all and will focus on compassion, diversity and inclusion. The discussion will take place on May 14 at 7:30 p.m.

On May 16 at 7 p.m. Dr. Andrew Vidich, an educator, author and international speaker, will visit the Harrison Library. Vidich specializes in meditation and will host a demonstration on how to use meditation for deeper concentration, relaxation and profound personal growth.

The library will host a pair of 'meet the author' events the following week, starting with J. Henry Fair on May 20 at 3 p.m. Fair will discuss his book "The Day After Tomorrow: Images of Our Earth in Crisis".

On May 23 at 7:30 p.m. local author Joan Katen will discuss her book "Love at the Edge", a novel about a relationship between a Palestinian and Israeli. Katen is also a professor at Pace University.

All events will be held at the downtown Harrison Library.
