music teacher Cris Spinner and HHS students and advisors representing the Government Organization (G.O) presented a check for over $7,000 to Christine Godowski, the regional director of the Autism Speaks organization Friday.
Proceeds were raised during the Voices Heard 5 – A Musical Concert to Benefit Autism Speaks, held in December.

Spinner and many of her Harrison Central School District colleagues and friends organized and performed at this holiday event and the High School students, in partnership with the PTA, sold refreshments to raise money to benefit Autism awareness.
“There was such a huge community involvement,” said Spinner. “The school district, the students, the town, I couldn’t do it without them.”

At the breakfast Spinner announced that plans are tentatively underway for “Voices Heard 6” to be held next December. She hopes to then raise even more money for a cause that is very near and dear to her heart.
