Harrison Students Join All-County Music Festival

Music students from three Harrison schools participated in the 55th Annual Elementary and Intermediate All-County Music Festivals on March 10th and 11th. The festival is presented by the Westchester County School Music Association(WCSMA).

Ten members of ’s chorus performed a wide range of compositions with more than 50 other elementary school students.

Harrison freshman Brianna Pavesi participated in the Intermediate All-County Chorus, which is comprised of 7th to 9th grade students across Westchester County. Catherine Rocchi, also an freshman, played the flute as part of the Intermediate All-County Band.

8th graders and violinists Hitomi Sasaki and Ayaka Yorihiro were among peers of many other county schools in the Intermediate All-County Orchestra.

These music students were selected based on ratings earned on their solo performances at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) music festival.

WCSMA is a non-profit organization whose objective is to advance and strengthen the cause of music education in Westchester County. WCSMA is the county unit of NYSSMA and MENC: The National Association for Music Education, a 100,000 member association.
