HHS 10th Grader's Work Heading to Washington

Harrison High School sophomore Alessia Solimeo was the winner of the 31st Congressional District Art Competition announced by Congresswoman Nita Lowey at a reception held recently at the Conservatory of Music in Westchester.

Alessia’s piece titled "Giomo del Ringraziamento" or "Thanksgiving Day" will replace last year’s winner, Harrison High School graduate Sophia San Marco’s "The Fight Is Not Over". The artwork will be on display in the Cannon Tunnel, the passageway that connects the Capitol Building to the Cannon House Office Building for the next year.

HHS art teachers Lisa Monti and Dom Petrillo had four additional students whose work was also ondisplay for consideration.
