HHS Honors 'Writers Among Us'

Through a grant from the Harrison Educational Foundation, Harrison High School honored outstanding writers at its annual Writer’s Among Us breakfast on Wednesday, May 30.

Representatives from each of the four grades were recognized and published in this year’s “IMAGINE” Literary Magazine.

New York Times Best Selling Author Andrew Gross was this year’s guest speaker, providing those in attendance with his advice on becoming the best writer they can be. As if preparing for a sport or a performance, practicing everyday is the key to becoming a better writer, he said.

Those receiving awards this year were: Emma Adler, Marwan Bishtawi, Jeremy Brefere, Sam Colangelo, Ariel Coonin, Erica Dattero, Christina Della Rocco, Ashley DelliPaoli, Amanda Friedman, Danny Glass, Jiin Kwon, Jenna Lefkowitz, Liliane Lindsay, Samantha Lisk, Daniel Maldonado, Amanda Mora, Julia Ng, Cayla Pettinato, Paula Segovia, Izzy Sheck, Shlya Solangi, Angela Troia, and Luke Wolf.
