senior Madison Pollack received the 2011 Outstanding Senior in French Award from the American Association of Teachers of French.
Nominated by her French teacher Susie Michel, a set of criteria highlighting Madison’s achievements and experiences related to French was presented to the AATF committee who recently approved her for this honor.

“Maddie is a tremendous person and has worked hard in class and embraced this aspect of her studies in many ways including being a presence at many LOTE related events, lending her beautiful voice tosinging traditional French songs,” said Brendan Gallivan, K-12 director of LOTE and ESL.
The AATF was founded in 1927 and has as its mission the promotion of the study of French language and French-speaking literatures and cultures at all levels. Madison is a member of the National Foreign Language Honor Society and an elected officer of the Club de Francais at HHS. She has competed eachyear in the Grand Concours National French Exam and has traveled abroad to study theatre arts in Normandy, France.

“We are proud that Maddie Pollack’s achievements are being recognized by the AATF as those of a truly outstanding, genuine Francophile,” said Michel.
In June, Madison will be recognized at the Senior Awards Ceremony and her name will be placed on the ATTF Outstanding Senior in French award page on their website.
