In the Water Quality event, Eric Kopczynski and Christian Reigler received an astounding second place finish. It was the first time that either boy had competed in this event.  Leslie An and Joseph Dolinak, in the Write It, Do It event; James Jacobson and Joseph Dolinak in the Optics event, and Matthew Schwartz in the Meteorology each took home a ninth place finish.

“All events are driven by the students,” said 7th grade science teacher Kathleen Ennis. “They need to be able to problem solve. The teachers are allowed to ask questions that will get the students thinking in the right direction, but Science Olympiad is very much about becoming a self-directed learner.”
