The School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Manhattanville College announces the launch of its Education and Research Center for Managing Risk.

Thought-leaders in risk management from around the globe make up the Executive Advisory Council, which will be instrumental in creating and delivering best-practices, educational programs, and applied research to the international risk management community.

"Such a center has been long overdue, especially given the various financial and governance debacles over the past ten years,” said Arnold Schanfield, director of the center “The ISO 31000 standard the center has adopted is so refreshing since it represents a major progression from linear to integrative thinking.”

In addition to offering several certificates in managing risk designed for audiences ranging from executive level to introductory level, the center will be developed as a repository for best-in-class research in managing risk. The center will also be heavily involved in the development of subject matter expertise, corporate training programs, workshops, symposia and events targeted at advancing the risk management discipline.

“Establishing this center is very gratifying because we need to address the general malaise facing the risk management business community brought on my the numerous disasters and the failed regulatory remedies,” said Anthony Davidson, dean of the school of graduate and professional studies. “By promoting initiatives that have a totally integrative approach to risk underpinned by an ethical focus we are reaffirming Manhattanville's commitment to build ethical and socially-responsible leaders in a global community.”
