More than 40 fourth and fifth grade students at Samuel J. Preston Elementary school have earned induction into the Green Key Society.
The induction ceremony of this long standing service club recognized students for their service and dedication to teachers and staff members at school and through activities that reach out to the Harrison Community.

As part of their outreach programs, the 43 students collected food for Grace Church and the Harrison Food Pantry, wrote cards and letters to the children of Blythedale Hospital and St. Agnes Hospital and support cards to local Senior Citizens.
In their school community, the students acted as liaisons for Kindergarten-aged students, helping them find lost articles and assisting them with academic tasks.

Geri Hennings, teacher and advisor for the Green Key Society, received an Honorary Member Award for her 27 years of leadership.
