The Auxiliary of St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester, a division of Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, presented its 2012 Youth Awards at a ceremony yesterday at the hospital.
The awards honor area high school students whose volunteer service exemplifies the hospital’s values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence. Assemblymember Robert Castelli also presented certificates to the honorees recognizing their service.

Keynote speaker Guy Fessenden, executive director of CHOICE of New Rochelle, an advocacy and support agency for people with mental illness, spoke about his effort last year to run 100 marathons in 140 days on behalf of his daughter, who suffers from schizophrenia, to raise money and awareness about the stigma of mental illness .
