Car Fire on Union Avenue in Harrison
A gray Ford began smoking while moving along Union Avenue at about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Union Avenue was closed near the Nelson Avenue intersection for about 30 minutes Wednesday afternoon after a passing car caught fire just after 2 p.m.
The car was smoking heavily when it stopped near the intersection. A second motorist stopped to assist, the witness said. The driver of the vehicle, a gray Ford Taurus, was not injured.
The Harrison Fire Department put out the fire within minutes and the car was towed from the scene.
