Harrison Police Blotter: April 13 - 18

The events of the Harrison Police during the second week of April.

Driving With A Suspended License/Registration

On April 13, at about 12:30 p.m. a Harrison police officer stopped a vehicle on Mamaroneck Avenue for having a cracked windshield. A police computer check revealed that the driver, identified as 41-year-old Todd O'Neill, did not have a valid registration. Furthermore, O'Neill's driving privileges in New York State had been suspended.

The driver was arrested and his vehicle was towed.

Drug Distribution/Possession

On April 13, at about 9:45 p.m. a Harrison police officer responded to a report of suspicious behavior at the Mobil gas station on the Hutchinson River Parkway. Two vehicles were reported leaving the gas station, both were stopped by Harrison Police.

One vehicle was stopped on North Street after exiting the Hutchinson River Parkway. The driver, identified as 18-year-old James Fleur, was asked to step out of the vehicle and questioned. At this point police reported seeing a clear bag of marijuana in plain view on the floor of the car. Police then asked two 17-year-old passengers to exit the vehicle.

Upon searching the 17-year-olds police reported finding another clear bag of marijuana on the person of one suspect as well as a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine in the pocket of the other.

Upon further questioning the three occupants of the vehicle admitted to purchasing marijuana from a man they had met at the Mobile station. All three suspects were placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. 

Harrison Police also stopped the other vehicle involved in the incident. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 22-year-old Carl Parris of New Rochelle, was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to police headquarters.

Police reported that Parris admitted to selling "three dubs to his boy". Upon searching the suspect police found another clear bag of marijuana. Parris was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released on $500 cash bail. He is due in court on April 27.

Drug Possession

On April 14, at approximately 11 p.m. a Harrison police officer made a traffic stop on Mamaroneck Avenue. While interviewing the driver, the responding officer reported a strong smell of marijuana. When police asked the driver, later identified as 40-year-old Robert Castriotta, if there were any drugs in the vehicle he admitted to having marijuana inside of the car.

A search of the vehicle yielded eight clear bags of marijuana, numerous partially smoked marijuana cigarettes and two pills that police believe to be ecstasy. 

Castriotta was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to police headquarters. He was released on $200 cash bail and is due in court on April 27.

Aggravated Unlicensed Operator

On April 17, at about 3:30 p.m. 29-year-old Mamaroneck resident Genevieve Peattie responded to the Harrison Police Department to explain her involvement in a traffic accident that took place on Westwood Drive in Harrison. The driver of the vehicle involved in that accident had fled the scene.

Peattie told police that she had fallen asleep while driving a friend's car and crashed into a porch. She said that she fled the scene because she was scared.

A computer check of Peatties license found that her license had been suspended. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator in the first degree - a felony. She is due in court on April 29.

Driving With A Suspended Registration

On April 18, at about 5:15 p.m. a Harrison police officer stopped a vehicle near Westchester Avenue after a license plate reader indicated a suspended registration. 

A computer check of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Johan Tola-Gomez, revealed that his registration was in fact suspended. The computer check also revealed eleven other suspensions. 

Tola-Gomez was placed under arrest and later released on $240 cash bail. He is due in court on May 4.

Driving With A Suspended Registration

On April 18, at about 5:30 a.m. Harrison police responded to a report of a vehicle that had struck a pole. A computer check revealed that the registration of the vehicle had expired due to an insurance lapse. 

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Brooke Feeney was placed under arrest at the scene and eventually released. She is due in court on May 4.

Unlicensed Contractor

On April 19, at about 2:50 p.m Harrison police responded to a residence on 5 Windsor Court on a report that Vito Forgione, owner of Ascend Construction Corporation, had been performing landscaping work with a revoked Westchester County Contractors License. 

Forgione was placed under arrest for being an unlicensed contractor, in violation of the consumer protection code. He was released at the scene and is due in court on May 4.
