Harrison Police Blotter: April 8 - 12

This week's events from the Harrison Police Department.

A drug possession charge, criminal tampering and a warrant arrest are part of the Harrison police blotter this week.

Warrant Arrest

On April 8, at about 10 a.m., 34-year-old Dale Walker voluntarily surrendered at police headquarters regarding two active bench warrants issued by the Harrison Town Court.

He was processed and bail was set at $500. When Walker was unable to post bond he was transported to Westchester County Jail.

He is due in court on April 13.

Driving with a Suspended Licence

On April 9, at about 11:30 a.m., Harrison police performed a traffic stop near 95 Lake Street. 

A computer check revealed that the driver, 60-year-old Enrique Espejo, had his license suspended in New York State. Espejo was arrested for third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and released at the scene.

He is due in Harrison court on April 20.

Driving with Suspended Registration

On April 9, at about 3:30 p.m. Harrison police stopped a vehicle on Union Avenue after a license plate reader indicated a suspended registration.

The driver, identified as 53-year-old Arelis Dabalsa, was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration and is due on Harrison court on April 20.

Criminal Tampering

On April 10, at about 4:45 p.m. Harrison police were dispatched to Soulard Street to respond to a report of criminal tampering. Upon arrival police spoke to Raymond Laluma, who claimed that 30-year-old Ruben Mendoza had deflated the tires of his vehicle.

When police spoke to Mendoza he admitted to letting some air out of the tires because the man was parking in front of his boss' driveway. Mendoza was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was later released and is due in court on April 20.

Laluma was also ticketed for blocking the driveway.

Drug Possession

On April 10, at approximately 6:15 p.m. a Harrison police officer made a traffic stop after seeing a driver operating a vehicle without a seatbelt. 

While speaking to the driver, later identified as 19-year-old Joseph Anella, the officer reported seeing two partially smoked marijuana cigarettes in plain view. Upon further search of the vehicle police found a small clear bag containing 35 oxycontin pills. The driver was also carrying $1,162 in cash.

Anella was placed under arrest and taken to Harrison Police Headquarters. He is due in Harrison court on April 13.
