Harrison Poll: Coyotes

After the two recent coyote attacks in neighboring Rye, this week's Harrison poll asks readers if they will change their daily plans as a result of the coyote attacks nearby.

Authorities reported four coyote sightings in Harrison since the first attack, however there is no way to tell if those coyotes are the same ones responsible for the attacks in Rye. Police are still looking for coyotes near the Rye-Harrison border, and the most recent attack took place less than a mile from town.

Harrison police, as well as Harrison Mayor/Supervisor Joan Walsh have encouraged residents to be careful, especially during the early morning and evening hours. But will this mean putting off evening walks or keeping children from playing outside?
