Harrison Woman Cited for Marijuana Possession

The following arrest information was provided by the Harrison Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 20-year-old Harrison woman was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on North Street this week.

The woman was stopped for following another vehicle too closely on North Street at about 3 p.m. on April 20. Police say after smelling marijuana, they asked the woman if there was any pot in the vehicle.

According to police the 20-year-old handed them a clear Zip-loc bag containing a small amount of marijuana. Police say they later found a purple grinder containing more marijuana and a plastic prescription pill bottle containing two partially smoked marijuana cigarettes.

The woman was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and released. She is due in court May 15.
