Heavy Rain Expected Tonight; LEGO Hour at the Library; and the Harrison ARB Meets Tonight

Today’s forecast calls for temperatures reaching a high in the mid-70s, rain showers, thunderstorms, gusty winds and possible flash floods, according to the National Weather Service. A flash flood warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms are expected before 2 p.m., with more then showers and possibly a thunderstorm likely between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. More scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected after 5 p.m.
There will be road closures on the Bronx River Parkway this week from White Plains to Yonkers. Closures are scheduled to take place on the Bronx River Parkway this week at midday and at night so that the construction crews can relocate temporary concrete median barriers and adjust travel lane widths while they work on the west abutment footing and retaining wall. The night time closures will occur from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. today in both northbound and southbound directions from the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers to the Westchester County Center (Exit 22) in White Plains. The midday closures will affect northbound traffic on today and Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Check here for more information on the closures.
The Harrison library is hosting LEGO hour at its children’s section today from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. All children are welcome. The Harrison library is located at 2 Bruce Ave. in Harrison.

The Harrison Architectural Review Board Committee is scheduled to meet tonight at 7:30 p.m., inside the Alfred F. Sulla, Jr. Municiple Building, located at 1 Heineman Pl. in Harrison.
- The New Westchester Symphony Orchestra is inviting local musicians to a complimentary rehearsal at 7:30 p.m. tonight, inside the Music Conservatory of Westchester, located at 216 Central Ave. in White Plains.
