Manhattanville College Welcomes Actor Alum as Commencement Speaker

Actor James Badge Dale serve as commencement speaker at His Alma Mater Manhattanville College.

Purchase, NY, May 5, 2016 -- James Badge Dale, actor, will be Manhattanville College’s 175th undergraduate commencement speaker on May 14. Among many other film roles, Dale stars in the sci-fi / thriller film titled “Spectral”, to be released this summer.

Dale began his career when he was cast in the 1990 version of “Lord of the Flies” and has played key roles in “The Departed,” “Iron Man 3,” and most recently “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.”

Dale, an alulmnus of Manhattanville, credits the college with having a positive influence on his life. He was involved with the college’s theatre program and played on the men’s ice hockey team during the 1999-2000 season.

Jean Strauss, first lady of Manhattanville College, will be the Graduate School commencement speaker on May 12. She is a documentary film maker and New York Times bestselling author.

Rev. Edward Mulraine ’92, the pastor of Unity Baptist Tabernacle Church in Mount Vernon, NY, will the Baccalaureate & Honors convocation speaker May 13.
