New Equipment on the Way for Congress St. Park
The Town of Harrison will invest about $35,000 to replace playground equipment that was removed two years ago.

The Harrison Recreation Department has decided to add brand new playground equipment to the , giving kids in the area a reason to celebrate.
The six-acre park’s old playground was torn down two years ago because it was old and had become dangerous, said Gerry Salvo, director of the Harrison Recreation Department. His department decided this year to spend $35,000 to replace it.
The new equipment will be placed in the same area as the old playground, but with new plastic borders replacing the old wood that sits there now. Salvo said there are plans for slides, sliding poles and other small pieces of equipment designed for kids aged two to 12.

The Harrison Town Board approved the expense this week.
Recently a well known local butcher store owner, the park is located at 1 Congress Street and currently has a basketball court, open field and park benches.
