Nyack Restauranteur to Open Harrison Eatery

A new restaurant slated to open in early April on Halstead Avenue is the brainchild of Constantine Kalandranis, the chef and owner of 8 North Broadway, a storefront restaurant in Nyack.

Near the train station, the new place, called 273 Kitchen, is planned as a wine bistro. Mediterranean-themed, it will include a raw bar and a small plates menu that its creator feels will suit the intimate space.

“We want our patrons to feel like they are walking into the dining room of someone’s home, an unpretentious, comfortable place to enjoy great wine and high quality, fresh seafood and seasonal preparations,” said Kalandranis. “The open kitchen element will create a sense of intimacy and play, and heightens the excitement patrons feel about the entire dining experience.”

It’s the first of two Westchester eateries he’s planning. The second, in Mount Kisco, has a scheduled June opening. Much bigger, 251 Lex will have outdoor seating, a patio to host a spit roast, a full bar and a menu that features the same locally driven Mediterranean cuisine as 8 North Broadway.
