Rain in the Forecast; Open House for the YWCA's Infant/Toddler Program

1.) Say goodbye to nice weather. The forecast for Wednesday from the National Weather Service calls for scattered showers with thunderstorms possible after noon. Chance of rain is 20 percent. The high will be near 79. For Wednesday night, there is a 60 percent chance of precipitation after midnight. The low will be around 68.

2.) The YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester is having  open house for its infant/toddler program on Wednesday, Aug. 7. from 9 a.m. to noon and  3 p.m. to 5 p.m. For information and to RSVP, email the program director crobinson@ywcawpcw.org or call (914) 949-6227, ext. 133. 3.) A free presentation entitled, “Cook and Bake – Ready to Use a Commercial Kitchen,” will be given today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at SCORE Westchester, located at 120 Bloomingdale Road in White Plains. The presentation will be lead by commercial kitchen owner Jaine Zaidman Goldentaier. Goldentaier will discuss a range of topics, including how to start a food business, how to start a catering business, things you need to know before working in a commercial kitchen, and why churche kitchens are a surprisingly good place to start a new business. 4.) Hope Heyman, business advisor,  and other Small Business Development Center experts are hosting a workshop on "Starting Your Own Small Business/Expanding Your Existing Business”     at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug 7, at the Greenburgh Library. The Greenburgh Library is located 300 Tarrytown Rd. in Elmsford.
