Readers Choose: Best Local 'Staycation' Spot

Vacation season is in full swing and while trips to exotic far off destinations are a tempting option, there are also plenty of options available close to home.

This week's readers' choice asks you to vote on your favorite day trip or staycation destination right here in town. From local parks and walking trails to local hotels that offer a night away from home, there are plenty of options.

The poll below has six destinations to get things started, but if we missed a place you think should be included let us know in the comments section below. Your ideas for local staycations are also appreciated.

Let us know a place by Wednesday and we will even add it to the poll.

Votes will be accepted until 9 a.m. Friday and the winner will be announced that afternoon. Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner.
