Spruce Up Harrison: Town Seeks Volunteers
The Town of Harrison is looking for volunteers to participate in a Spring Spruce Up Day to be held April 14.
Local parks, streams, wooded areas and other public places will be getting a face lift this month, and town leadership is looking for the support of Harrison's residents to help make it happen.
The town is seeking volunteers to take part in "spring spruce up day" on April 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone interested will be sent to one of several target spots in Harrison or West Harrison where they will help work on cleaning and "sprucing up" the area.

Downtown
- The stream behind LMK Midde School
- The Beaver Swamp Brook Corridor
- West Street (near the I-95 bridge)

- The area around Silver Lake
- Underhill Avenue
- The Village Green
Captains will be at each targeted area to hand out lawn bags and give instructions. Anyone interested in volunteering can call the mayor's office at (914)-670-3009.
This is the second community improvement event held in Harrison over the last six months. Harrison resident Anja Porto organized a in Veteran's Park after the local election season in November.
