Truck Veers Off I-684 Ramp, Exit Closed

HARRISON - A driver lost control of an 18-wheeler on the southbound exit from I-684 to eastbound I-287 this afternoon, the truck crashed through a guard rail and fell into the Hutchinson River. The ramp remains closed as authorities clear damage from the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was removed from the truck earlier in the day, according to a witness at the scene.  Authorities were in the process of removing the truck from the Hutchinson River at 4:00 p.m. Monday.

Several state police cars and tow trucks are still at the scene. Traffic moving from southbound I-684 to I-287 east is being diverted toward I-287 west, causing moderate delays.
