Brazen Mid-Day Mugger Arrested, Police Search For His Accomplice

Police are searching for one other suspect in the Downtown Brooklyn mugging of a teenage.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police arrested a 17-year-old for mugging a teen inside the Nevins Street subway station in Downtown Brooklyn and are searching for another suspect in the brazen mid-day robbery, officials said Sunday.

Two young men approached a 19-year-old on the platform of the Nevins Street station on Aug. 14 at 12:30 p.m., demanding he hand over his belongings. When the victim refused, one of the robbers threatened to stab the teen, punched him in the face and swiped his cell phone, police said.

The second thief grabbed the victim's backpack and the muggers fled the station. Police arrested and charged Tajhion Harrigan, 17, later that day for robbery, but are still on the prowl for his accomplice.
