🌱 Brooklyn Bridge Protest + Restaurant Openings + 1000 New Trees

Good morning, neighbors! I'm back after a few days off, and there's lots of news around town to catch up on. Let's start by looking at the recent protest that overtook the Brooklyn Bridge on Monday.

Here are the top stories in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO today:

1. Thousands of city workers marched across the Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall on Monday, protesting a vaccine mandate that will take effect on Friday. The protest temporarily stopped traffic on the bridge. According to recent data, only 60% of firefighters and 72% of cops are vaccinated. (CBS New York)
2. Here's a detailed look at new restaurant openings and closures along Montague St. and in Brooklyn Heights–including a new Chinese dig called Din and Alice's Tea Cup, which has been struggling since the beginning of the pandemic. (Brooklyn Heights Blog)
