  1. A new autobiography tells the life story of Brooklyn Heights resident, Morrell Avram, born in Bucharest, Romania close to the start of World War II. Avram later took residence in The Heights after immigrating to the U.S., where he became a doctor and went on to found the Brooklyn Kidney Center. (Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
  2. Brooklyn saw more construction-related violations issued than any other borough last year, according to a newly released report. The 26,255 violations and 4,061 stop work orders included a worker who fell from his death in Brooklyn Heights in February. (Brooklyn Paper)
  3. A lottery is open for 185 subsidized apartments in the former Jehovah's Witness hotel in DUMBO. Nine of the apartments are for extremely low-income residents, making 30% of area median income, and the rest range up to 120%. (6Sqft)
