- Robert Brennan formerly became the Bishop of Brooklyn on Tuesday, following Bishop DiMarzio who was accused of child sexual abuse in 2019. Brennan, a Bronx native who's coming to Brooklyn by way of Ohio, said he's planning on focusing on listening to survivors and taking sexual abuse seriously, but some are skeptical there will be any meaningful change. There are 1.3 million Catholics in Brooklyn and Queens. (Brooklyn Paper)
- A new ice cream flavor at Prospect Heights ice cream spot "The Social" is meant to represent the diversity of Brooklyn and raise money for local racial justice nonprofits, thanks to a partnership with the Brooklyn Community Foundation.
