Child Riding Scooter Side-Swiped By SUV Near Cadman Plaza: Cops

The 12-year-old suffered a fractured leg and was rushed to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — A 12-year-old boy riding a scooter suffered a fractured leg after he was side-swiped by a BMW SUV near Cadman Plaza in Downtown Brooklyn on Monday morning, cops said. The 54-year-old driver of the car, who struck the teen at around 8:10 a.m. at the corner of Cadman Plaza West and Middagh St., stopped at the scene, according to the NYPD. The kid was riding his scooter against traffic when he was hit on Cadman Plaza West, cops said.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the kid conscious and responsive, they said. The teen, whose name wasn't immediately revealed, was rushed to the hospital in stable condition, police said. The accident was being investigated by the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad, and there were no arrests, cops said.
