- Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, and other local neighborhoods were added back into the city's restarting of its curbside compost pickup program, after a prolonged pandemic pause. The area was chosen for the program based on a high amount of community interest. Composting includes all plant-based food scraps, as well as egg shells. (City Limits)
- Two former teachers are suing their former employer, St. Ann's Private School in Brooklyn Heights, alleging that they were discriminated against based on their sexual orientation. One of them also alleges that the homophobic online behavior of some students was tolerated, against the rules of the school's student handbook. A spokesperson for St. Ann's denies the accusations. - The MTA announced it's planning to pilot a weekly fare-capping program in March. The plan means that after transit riders using OMNY take 12 trips–adding up to $33–all subsequent train or bus rides for the rest of the week will be free. (amNY)
