Here are the top stories in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO today:

  1. Thanks to a grant from the Brooklyn Arts Council, a free one-hour-adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream is coming to Cadman Plaza Park later this month. No reservation required. Brooklyn Heights' own theater company, Theater 2020, is putting on the play. (Broadway World)
  2. A Brooklyn developer is being accused of swindling vulnerable property owners – mainly the elderly and people with disabilities. His trick is to buy up their real estate, which has skyrocketed in value across the borough in the past decades, at an unusually low rate, often convincing homeowners to sell without consulting a lawyer. Now there's a lawsuit against him in a Brooklyn court. The kicker: his lawyer proudly compared him to former President Donald Trump. (New York Daily News)
  3. The MTA commenced air quality tests in 120 locations on Monday. The agency announced that it will be releasing non-toxic chemicals throughout the city, through October 29. (Gothamist)
