Here are the top three stories today in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO:
- DUMBO's first "shop the studios" event last weekend was a huge success, with hundreds of patrons flocking to the neighborhood to do their holiday shopping at 35 local art studios. The event combined the artists' work with the typical selection at the Brooklyn Flea Market. (Brooklyn Paper)
- The Brooklyn Heights Association is raising money for the victims of the Montague Street fire last week. It has determined that two apartments in the building were occupied during the fire and are excepting donations until December 31st. (BHA)
- Nine operators expressed interest in building a casino in New York City, and it looks like three of them will get to starting in 2023. The owner of The River Inn in DUMBO said he'd like to open a Monte-Carlo style establishment floating on the East River. (Yogonet International)
