1. Daily ferry service from Brooklyn to Governors Island is finally being expanded, as was promised. Starting on January 24th a new ferry route will travel from Atlantic Avenue to Red Hook before arriving at Governors Island. Over the summer there will be a direct route from DUMBO at Brooklyn Bridge Park. (Brooklyn Paper)
2. Governors Island will also be allowing dogs on leashes every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in celebration of "dog day." (New York City Patch)

More real estate news from Downtown Brooklyn: Here's an inside look at the latest development in super-tall Brooklyn towers, including Brooklyn Tower which recently topped out at 1,066 feet (93 stories).
