Police ID Bicyclist Killed, 77 In Nassau Collision
The Toyota driver tried to make a turn when he collided with the bicyclist, police say.
HICKSVILLE, NY — A bicyclist was killed in a collision in Hicksville on Sunday afternoon, Nassau police said.
A 20-year-old man was driving a 2019 Toyota 4Runner eastbound on Princess Street when he tried to turn right onto North Broadway and collided with Jong Hwam, 77, of Hicksville, who was riding a bicycle around 12:55 p.m., police said.
Hwam was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The 4Runner driver remained at the scene, police said. Detectives are investigating.
