Northern State Lanes To Be Closed Overnight For Months
Work crews will be repairing storm drains on the roadway for about three months, so try to use a different route if possible.
LONG ISLAND, NY — Lanes on both the east and westbound Northern State Parkway are going to be closed for months starting Monday as state crews make repairs to the roadway.
The Department of Transportation said that, beginning on Dec. 6, one lane in each direction will be closed between exit 33 for the Wantagh State Parkway and exit 45 for the Sagtikos State Parkway. Work crews will be doing storm drain maintenance.
The roads will be closed every night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for about three months, the state said. Roadwork will be done depending on the weather.
