Band Walking Sideways Mixes It Up

Group to perform at Huntington Station street fair.

The band Walking Sideways will perform Saturday at the Huntington Station street fair and will open for Rick Springfield at the Paramount Saturday night.

Erik Hagedorn, member of the band Walking Sideways, talks about his group and music.

Q. What kind of music do you play?
A.  Alternative Rock

where have you performed?
A. 89 North, Brickhouse Brewery, Vibe Lounge, Ollie's Point, and the Paramount

Q. What kinds of things were you involved in as a student? Were you in a band or orchestra either in the school or outside it? 3. What have you been doing since high school?
A. Joe and Erik started a band right after high school. Erik picked up a drummer thru a mutual friend from work, and a bass player thru an ex-girlfriend. They have been together ever since, creating fun and catchable songs with many genres for a wide range of music listeners.

Q. What's your next step musically? 
A. To play larger venues and to continue to reach a wider audience, while putting first our wives and families (guitarist Joe Brown and Erik are both married).

Why should we come listen to you Saturday?
A. To hear what happens when you mix a metal guitar player, a classic rock bass player, a reggae drummer and a singer/songwriter.
